How to Find What You’re Looking For

We have organized all of the State of Iowa’s agencies and vast resources into major topic groups, shown on the left-hand side of this page under the “Browse by Topic” list. To look for a state agency or resource, “click” on a topic which will take you to a list of website links related to that topic.

When you see a link on the State of Iowa’s website that has a small blue triangle  next to it, it means you are about to visit a site that is not part of the State of Iowa’s network. This means that we do not have any authority, or responsibility, for the page that the “off-site” link takes you to.

The second method of finding what you’re looking for on the State of Iowa’s website is to use our search engine. Look at the drop down menu at the topof the page. The first menu choice is “Search for a Website.” This choice will instruct the search engine to look for website links to agencies and related resources. The second menu choice is “Search all State documents online.” This choice will instruct the search engine to look through all state documents online. State documents include, but are not limited to, individual web pages, PDFs (Portable Document Files), Microsoft Word Documents, Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets, and Text Files. To learn more about how to use our search engine, click here.
